Experience the soča valley

It was the perfect mixture of fun on the water and getting to know the sport due to helpful tips of the two guides during challenges and practicing of the basic handling of the equipment. We were a group of eight and had two experienced guides with us. We felt safe all the time and were able to enjoy the beautiful landscape and crisp water freely without any stress. Definitely the highlight of our trip to slovenia! Thanks to the spontaneous and flexible guide we were able to do canyoning the next morning, which was also an unforgettable experience. We went really early, so it was just the three of us with Matic alone. There were waterfalls to slide down and even some high jumps, if one liked to get some extra kick of adrenalin. The equipment is in excellent condition and so the cold water was never an issues with the neoprene he provided for all of us. Matic is a delightful person to spend a day with and he was encouraging, funny and toke great pleasure from guiding us on both days. His fascination for the water and Soca Valley is infectious. We'll definitely come back next time we're traveling through slovenia. All in all it was well organized and we would highly recommend doing the outdoor adventures in the area with Matic. It was very friendly and personal and not touristy at all. There wasn't a single minute we felt hurried and so it tribute very well to our holiday feeling over all. If you choose to start early you even have the rest of the day left for even more interesting trips this beautiful valley provides.

I was looking for a unique 4 day experience and Matic worked with me to organize a custom extended kayaking weekend. It was perfect. We paddled everyday and nearly all sections of the Soca River. If you’re interested in alternative whitewater sessions, he’s a great person to connect with. He also kayaks internationally and has a slalom kayaking background and both of these experiences show up on and off the river.

Matic has a great inventory of cutting edge and up to date whitewater gear. He works with kayaking manufacturers on boat development and while I was there I was able to test the new Wavesport Phoenix. I also tried the Waka OG and Gangsta. He mostly paddled the Pyranha Ripper. I generally never test out boats, so that was a great feature that he has to offer.

Soca Valley is beautiful and Matic showed me some “hidden/secret” waterfalls, caves, whitewater lines and boofs. We also explored some of the small villages and their local food specialties. He’s also very skilled technically and has a deep understanding of class V water. If you want tips he’ll give them, if not he’s happy to just kayak and have fun. He’ll even try to photograph some of your boofs.

If you’re looking for the ultimate kayak guide, I strongly recommend Matic, whether it’s in Soca Valley or possibly somewhere else. He knows his stuff. But what’s really impressive and contagious is his passion for water, nature and whitewater. He’s living his version of the whitewater kayaker and it was great to participate and have four days of authentic inspiration.

The nature is so impressing, we will definitly come back. The grand finale was the the Kayaktour on the Soća with... read more Matic. He has a lof possitiv energy, and is very experienced guide. We all felt very safe. The colour if the river,the mountain the beauty of nature was incredible.
We felt like one of this nature dokus on TV.
In this part of the river it is pretty quiet and shallow. So it is not a dangerous trip. We did it with our teenager daughter, and we all had no ecperience in Kayaking on a river and head so much fun. The Trip was almost 3 hours and is definitly worth the money.

  This was an incredible experience- I feel so lucky to have done this! While I’ve kayaked a lot, it was always on calmer waters. Still, it was a course that... read more beginners could handle. For our trip, there were two of us and Matic who even in planning this was so thoughtful. He provided tips for places to see from our drive up from Bled in advance and gave us great advice for what to do and eat in Bovec!

Matic arrived and we got suited up (wetsuits, helmets, life jackets) and before even getting in he had us warm up and stretch! We then got in our kayaks and he taught us proper technique and provided helpful feedback. He had such a calm and joyous presence! And watching other groups take off without such preparation made me especially grateful to be with Matic!

Once in the river, he made it fun. You go over and through some rapids for sure, and it is is doable! I may have tipped over twice but that was on me and Matic always made sure I was safe and gave incredibly clear instruction. And all with zero - I mean zero - judgement or exasperation. Because he was calm and collected, so was I. I definitely faced one of my fears and was grateful for someone with his demeanor and expertise. Also, while I tipped, I was the only one to do so!

Matic also knows the river and valley so well. His passion and expertise was apparent! I highly recommend this trip if you’re considering it! It was a wonderful experience with a very local guide - no frills, no rush, just perfect!
