We will start a tour in the capital Ljubljana, the road will take us on a drive through the Upper Sava valley towards Kranjska Gora. We will take a short brake at Zelenci – one of Sava sources and enjoy the scenic view of the beautiful nature. From there we will continue along a windy road into the mountains, ascending towards the mountain pass Predel, where remainings of WW1 awaits us.
We will stretch our legs with a refreshing hike to the hidden waterfall for another breath taking view. When we descend into the town of Bovec we will have an awesome opportunity to experience the best kayaking to secret spots on Soča river in Slovenia, or just relaxing on the river shore for a while. After kayaking a quiet lunch break with authentic Soča valley cusine will follow.
From Bovec we`ll progress towards the Trenta valley known for its rich historical heritage and pristine nature. A short hike will take us to the stunningly scenic Šumnikov vodni gaj. We can fill our water bottles with the crystal clear spring water of better quality than any water one can buy in the shop.
On the way to Bled we`ll pass highest slovenian pass Vršič, admiring pristine mountains surrounding us.
Last but not least, we`ll visit Bled. It is known for its little lake, the fairy tale – like church island and the amazing medieval castle overlooking the area from the castle rock above the lake. And kremšnita dessert of course!
Requirements and exclusions
Julian Alps Day trip takes around 12 hours. It involves a fair amount of walking and hiking. Consequently, it is not appropriate for people with medical problems or small children. Please bring appropriate clothing (in case of colder weather) and sport footwear. Kayaking participants need also a swimsuit and a towel. You should also bring some money with you for lunch (food) as meals are not included in the price. Exact trip itinerary is subject to change, taking into account weather, road and other circumstances of specific day.
